INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

Institutional Membership

Indian Institute of Science and Technology Education and Research

The Institutional Membership program of the Indian Institute of Science and Technology Education and Research (IISTER) is designed to integrate training institutions into a structured, outcome-based skill assessment and certification ecosystem that prioritizes quality, compliance, and industry relevance. This membership enables institutions to align their training delivery with standardized competency-based frameworks, ensuring that every candidate is evaluated against measurable performance criteria rather than theoretical benchmarks. The model is built to bring uniformity across training partners by enforcing clear operational guidelines, defined curriculum structures, and independent assessment protocols. Institutions such as training centers, colleges, vocational academies, NGOs, and corporate training units across sectors including healthcare, information technology, construction, hospitality, aviation, beauty and wellness, and technical trades are eligible to apply, provided they maintain adequate infrastructure, qualified trainers, and the ability to deliver practical skill-based training. Institutional members are granted access to a centralized digital system for candidate registration, assessment coordination, and certification management, ensuring transparency and process control at every stage. All certifications issued under the system are digitally verifiable through a secure mechanism, strengthening credibility and eliminating the risk of fraudulent credentials. The membership enhances institutional reputation by linking training outcomes directly with recognized certification, improving student trust, employer acceptance, and placement potential. Institutions are required to strictly adhere to compliance standards aligned with national frameworks such as the National Skill Development Corporation and the Skill India Mission, ensuring relevance within India’s skill development ecosystem. Continuous monitoring, audits, and performance evaluations are conducted to maintain quality and accountability, and any deviation from prescribed standards results in corrective action or termination of affiliation. The Institutional Membership program is structured to create a reliable network of high-performing training partners who deliver consistent, industry-aligned skill development, bridging the gap between training, assessment, and employment while supporting scalable growth within a regulated certification framework.

Who Can Apply:

Institutional Membership is open to training institutes, colleges, skill development centers, vocational academies, NGOs, corporate training divisions, and independent training providers operating across technical and non-technical sectors. Institutions offering programs in areas such as healthcare, IT, construction, hospitality, aviation, beauty and wellness, and other vocational domains can apply. Applicants must have basic infrastructure, qualified trainers, and the capacity to deliver structured training aligned with competency-based standards.

Member institutions are required to follow IISTER’s defined operational guidelines, including standardized curriculum frameworks, practical training methodologies, and independent assessment protocols. They must maintain proper infrastructure, ensure qualified faculty, and adhere to data management and reporting requirements. Compliance is mandatory; institutions that fail to meet standards will not be allowed to operate under the IISTER system.
